swapping a 3.0L engine w/ a 4.0L
I have a '99 Mazda B3000 w/ a 3.0L engine. The engine is blown. I was wondering about dropping a 4.0L engine in it. Does anyone know about hooking up the engine wiring harenss from a 4.0L to the truck? Will I have to splice any wires, and if so which ones? does anyone know where I can get info on this?

Re: swapping a 3.0L engine w/ a 4.0L
Your better off dropping a v-8 in that thing. the 3 liters and 4 liters are nothing alike. you have to change out all the wiring harness, mounting brackets and stuff like that. If your going to go through all that trouble, drop a v-8 in it.

i would need a '99 or newer since i live in CA, thats why i'm looking for a 4.0l, plus it would be alot cheaper for me cause i can buy a rolled ranger or explorer cheaper. any thoughts

You will need the whole donor truck, and will need to spend many hours wiring that up. Unless you can get a painless wiring harness for it.. Your best bet is to drop the same engine in. Pete |
