Maybe if more info was provided so help would be delivered.

First add your car to your signature including all of your mods and all of the troubleshooting techniques you have attempted. This will help greatly with helping you with your problem.

I think thats just when your ecu sees that your idle has gone up or down a little bit too much. Ive pulled that code a few times before.

Re: idle control system malfunction

Your keyboard seems to be capitalizing the first letter of every word, I'd get that looked at first.

Idle control malfuction DTC is a result of the ECU not being able to maintain closed loop control of idle speed. There are a ton of possible causes for that. If you search idle surge and other common idle problems you can uncover a ton of info. www.crebotech.com and www.vfaq.com are good resources for this. One of the problems I really try not to troubleshoot over the internet is idle control. It really is a complicated system.

Yeah, I'll say. My idle drops 250 rpm when I turn on my AC--not supposed to do that. I just tested the ISC (Idle Speed Controller) and it does not appear to be functional.

problem is that i bought the car from the auction.
so i dont know what she did to it.

but from the looks of it, it just seems like the previous owner
didnt take care of it at all.

my idle drops to 100 when the ac goes on.

and sometimes it idles at 1500 rpm.

and sometimes in park it fluctuates up and down.
which is scary.

Re: idle control system malfunction

Search http://www.dsmtuner.com/forums for "idle surge" or check out the http://www.vfaq.com article under the Intake section.
