Question A/C recharge

Thanks,

Purchased a 1994 camaro and its low on r-134a/refrigerant. I'm working to learn how to repair this car as much as I can (new wires, plugs, coil pack, oxygen sensor). Now I need to know where the low side is to put the r-134a in.

There's a connector/socket on the front passenger side of the car just above the tire inside the hood, that DOES fit the connector supplied by with the gauge for the r-134a. Following the line, it appears to lead towards passenger firewall side (some odd looking square-ish kind of thing).

There's also a connector at the very front of the vehicle under the hood (facing windshield) to the left of the radiator/cap that does NOT fit. Following the line, it appears to lead to a cannister.

Is low side the connector on passenger side under hood above the tire?

Thanks,
Toolbelt

Re: A/C recharge

Unless you are a certified automotive A/C specialist, don't bother with the a/c recharges packs cause you'll more than likely blow up your AC system and have to buy a new one.

Why? Because the lil gauge that they have in the AC recharge kits are 1: not accurate 2: 1 of about 6-7 things you have to meassure accurately.

If you put too much in it will fuck the whole thing up and you'll be pissed ontop of having to buy a new system

Take it to a mechanic and save yourself everything.

Re: A/C recharge

Yes, thats the low-side port. Thats why they are different sizes, so they cant be accidently hooked up the wrong way. And the square-ish thing is probably the case which holds the blower, etc.
