Question 3.8L engine

IS it possible to swap out the 3.4L engine from a z34 and drop in a 3.8 supercharged? And if so how durable are the 3.8 in comparison to the 3.4L. Evidently the 3.4L suck and is expenive to fix. I need some advice. I love the z34 but the engine always leaks or runs funny after a while and not fast enough.

Re: 3.8L engine

Not fast enough? Weird thing to say.

As far as swapping, sure. IF you want to do tons of fabwork and whatnot. You'll need a donor car (not just the 3.8) to grab the entire front end out of, assuming the Lumina has a spacious enough bay for you to be comfortable with.

The 3.8s are nearly bulletproof. I'd opt for a 3.8 over a 3.4DOHC for only durability; I'll happily (and have almost done) swap my 3100 for a 3.4DOHC.

AND RWD conversion. While you got the front end tore apart you might as well rip up the rest of the car.
