Does a tach need a remote wire?
will a tach drain a battery if it doesnt have a remote wire mine only has four wires to it: light, tach, power, ground

i'm not sure but i'm pretty sure the power wire is supposed to be hooked up to a switched wire, such as the ignition or accessory. personally, i would hook it up to the ingnition wire under the dash. but don't take my word for it, i've never installed one before. hope this helps. good luck.
