What Do You Think? CF Gauge Bezel Pics

Hi all. I was just starting to trick out my last Civic with a lot of performance mods and lots of carbon fiber, I'm a carbon fiber freak. I was driving along minding my own business about a month ago when the traffic ahead stopped, I stopped in time---------KKAABBLLAAAAMMM------the fat lady behind me didn't. I was rear-ended hard and my beautiful Civic was totalled. Any way, I had a carbon fiber euro dash in it and I recovered it along with a lot of other things from the car before it went to the scrap heap. I just bought a replacement car. A '95 Civic LX (i've always liked the sedan look, call me crazy). It looks like a grandpa car until I start ripping it apart. I was going to put the euro in the new one.

But I ran into a guy at a local auto show who had a seriously tight gauge overlay in his '94, it was CF with aluminum gauge rings. I asked him where he bought it and he said he was making them and would soon be starting a biz. He said he had a couple of prototypes but he couldn't sell any. After I begged and pleaded he agreed to sell me one(for a steep price, but I had to see how this looks in my Civvy). So I've got it in there and haven't glued it in. But I think I'm going to sell the euro and keep this bad boy in there. It's looks super tight and is a perfect first mod for the new car. Let me know what y'all think.

isnt that almost the same as a euro carbo fiber dash except on the euro dash the rings stick out on top. i really dont see a big difference and wouldnt of paid a STEEP price for that. how much did you pay? just my 2$

I liked my Euro dash but I thought it kinda looked goofy. It didn't have a factory fit, you know, the warning lights looked funny because they were so deep set. And the rings on my euro are not real aluminum, I think they're plastic with that chrome looking sticker stuff on top. I'm sure there are better quality ones. Anyway, this thing looks much better than anything else. I didn't pay any more than what the euro's are selling for on E-Bay. When I said I paid a steep price, I meant I paid more than what they'll retail for. I paid $65, if you must know. I paid $85 for my euro dash.

I think the DX is the only model that doesn't come with a facory tach. I just bought this car, but I'm pretty sure the tach is stock equipment.

I was asking around and got clarification on this debate of whether LX's have tachs from the factory....I think. A friend of mine told me something, but I don't think it makes sense. LX's have a tach if they are a manual tranny and they have the DX type gauge cluster(w/o tach) if they are auto trans. Does this make sense? This doesn't seem like something the auto makers would do, but it's best answer so far to this debate. Anyway, I got this sweet ass gauge overlay and the B16 engine swap starts to happen tomorrow. See Ya.

Thumbs up From what I can see... It looks nice!

I can hardly see the CF! :o
Question: Do you have a CF bezel overlay or just the bezel itself?

I have those rings, too! (w/ stock bezel) It gives the Civic a touch of class, don't you think? I'm kinda debating if I should get an actual CF bezel for mine...

It's a CF overlay, just like are all over E-Bay,(except those are probably fake, I don't know) and the alum. rings are adhesived to the CF. The whole thing goes over the stock bezel and the deep part of the rings goes through the existing gauge cut-outs. It makes for a clean factory look. Ya, the CF is hard to see in the picture, but it is good stuff. I know enough about this stuff to know when it's real and this is real stuff and it's got a real nice weave pattern to it.
