Brakes.

Ok, I have been playing with my 2000 Stratus and have decided to play with the brakes as well. I was thinking about going with a set of drilled or slotted rotor's and have heard lot's of positive/negative on the subject. Some people say they are great other's swear that they are worthless? Does anyone know more about this and if I should consider shelling out the extra cash for them and if so what brand would you recommend?

Re: Brakes.

there's a good side and a bad side:
pro: decreased stopping distance
con: expensive to fix
pro: decreases the chance of brake fade
con: excessive cost factor involved when replacing pads or rotors, also, the rotors CAN NOT BE TURNED. If you have warped rotor, you'll have to buy a new one. You'll shell out a pretty penny now for great brakes, but as time goes on and they wear down, the cost to replace them is substantially higher than if you would go to an auto part store or dealer.
