tamiya porsche carerra GT problem

is anyone having difficulty with the exhaust section on their 1/24th Tamiya porsche carrera GT model?

nearly finished the engine build section but have come across a problem. As you see from the pics below the manual says that the back box will slot onto the main exhausts, but the reality is that there is a gap between them when mounted to the the main chassis. There is no part information to say that there should be a part to join these two together so how am I going to get around this problem. I am stuck now til I sort out this problem

Is anyone else having this difficulty or is it just me?

please help

tony

From your pic, it seems that the engine block is not placed correctly. The engine block should be moved a bit backward (or towards the rear end). You may notice it when trying to fit in the rear shaft.

Cheers,
AC

Yes, I see the same problem, the engine is sitting forwards, check the engine-chassis assembly again, use the rear axle and the rear spindles as a reference, I already built this kit, and had no trouble at all, check mine:

Hope this helps.

Regards

Re: tamiya porsche carerra GT problem

There shouldn't be a problem with the exhaust. The only problem is the snap on windshield.
