Z24 Cav Reliability?

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a Z24 Cavalier as it seems to fit my bill pretty good, it's cheap and performance isn't bad for the price. The only thing that is concerning me though is the reliability. How is it? Anyone have any major problems?

Thanks!

Don't think you have a racecar and you'll be fine. They hold up just as well as any other car, only reason they get a bad rep is because people drive the shit out of a cheap car or because the people that drive cheaper cars tend to be less mature and thus drive them into the ground.

Don't be a kid and you'll be set.

Re: Z24 Cav Reliability?

Okay, thanks. I'll be using it for racing once in a while but nothing very serious. Otherwise, it'll be treated just like any other daily driver...

I've had mine since 1993 and run both drag & solo I and driven pretty hard... the little bugger still feels the same as new with the exception of some body noise... a good stereo takes care of that!.. If ya get one , check it out completely.

I've had mine for about 7 months now and havent had any problems except for those that I caused myself. ex. check engine light on for not screwing the gas cap on tight

Around here 80% of what I hear about Cavaliers is good. Z24, LS, RS or base. So dont race it constantly and I'd say you are good to go.
