86 Ranger Steering lock problems

I've got an 86 Ranger and all of a sudden, without warning the key wont turn in the ignition or unlock the locking steering wheel. I can't seem to figure out a way to get it to work. I've tried turning the wheel a little and letting the truck roll forward a little as I turn the key but to no avail. Do you guys have any Ideas? I would really appreciate it!
