A/C fan not blowing as well on max

Hey folks, this is my first post here. I have read a bit on here and there are some knowledgeable folks on here. Here is my problem. I have a '99 Suburban with the 5.7 in it. When I have the A/C on normal, it has the proper amount of air out of the vents, but when I turn it on max so it recirculates, the airflow goes down quite a bit. i was talking to a friend at lunch today and he has a 2000 Tahoe, and he told me that there are passenger compartment air filters that might be clogged. Unfortunately he didn't know where they are or how to get to them. So i was wondering, 1. Can someone confirm that the '99 had these, and 2. Does anyone have a clue where they are, and how to change them? Thanks for your help.

Pretty sure it is only the new body styles (2000 and up) that have the cabin air filters.

There is an access panel underneath the dash on the passenger side for the cabin air filters.

Mine's a 99, and I definitely do not have the cabin air filters. I also get reduced air flow when on recirculate.

www.carquest.com/cabin_air.htm 99-02 All have cabin air filters under center of the dash.As for the air not blowing as hard get under the dash on the passenger side and turn the fan from normal to high with the a/c on max and make sure the blower motor speeds up more when switched might be the blower motor or even the relay.hope that helps
