ABS acting up
My 93 limited, 38,000 miles (yes, original miles, bought it from a retired old man) started having ABS problems. I was coasting to a stop (the brakes were being applied.) and all of a sudden it seemed like the anti locks kicked on. It made horrible noises, brake pedal vibrating, and then instant breaks, it nearly slammed me into the steering wheel. There was no reason the anti locks should of kicked on. It was very nice outside. The ABS light went on about 30 sec after. It has since started doing it more often. This is pretty scary. The car is not slowing down then all of a sudden the anti locks kick off and WHAMO instant breaks. I have removed the main ABS fuse.
I guess my question is: Is this going to hurt anything? Other than the fact I dont have ABS brakes. I learned to drive without them back in the day. Drove without them for many years. Is it really nessasary to fix them? I dont want to hurt any other part of the car. Thanks for any replies |

its ok, my lesabre only has 29000 miles origional, it was my grandmothers. and its an 89, anyways i dont have anti-lock and i dont see a problem with you not having them either, just be very careful. and it could be something as simple as a sensor dirty or something so i would try to check it out and see what happens. but other than that it should be fine now.
