96 AC issue

I have a 96 aurora that is actually my grandpa's. He had a new compressor put in and the A/C serviced during the spring by a resputable mechanic.

Here's the issue. I checked the pressures, and they looked ok, ~130 psi on the low side, but it was 104 outside here in kansas so im assuming thats about right. The thing is I never hear the compressor kick on. and when i first turn the car on i don't hear it kick on then either. The compressor is new and was only used for about a week before the ac stopped, so I don't know if it is at fault. Really I'm wondering if this is a temperature sensor issue, never telling the compressor to turn on? I'm assuming its not a compressor clutch issue, since the compressor is new, but if it is, im sure it is under warrenty still.

Re: 96 AC issue

can I assume you have checked all the wiring connections at the compressor? (and elsewhere)

The temp sensor for the climate control is up inside the "grill" opening; single connector, prone to Kamikaze woodchuck damage. Typically, your temp readout inside on the climate control panel would be wacky though if this part was bad or woodchuck-damaged.

HEy there,

FYI, 130psi on the low side is incredibly high. Should be more like 30 psi and the high side more like 180-200psi.
