Altenator Voltage Drop
I have a new Altenator in a 99 Blazer and when first started the Voltage guage goes right to 15 Volts. After the car gets hot the voltage guage goes to 14 or a hair below it. When starting it with the engine hot the voltage guage moves up much slower and takes a few more seconds to get up to the reading.

Re: Altenator Voltage Drop
Sounds okay to me. Mine does the same since the day I had it.
As long as you do not get a "Battery" light, your charging system is functional.

Re: Altenator Voltage Drop
This is normal. The voltage will drop as the alternator warm up and looses a little efficiency.
