clutch question

I think its my clutch that is going out. But when I'm going down the road and I shift into 3rd. 4rth, or 5th gear, and I start to accelerate after I shift, my tach, starts going up and I don't really get much speed, I think something is slipping.

Re: clutch question

Your clutch is probably bad but you just need to be sure it's adjusted properly. If it's hydraulically actuated, it should be self adjusting. If it's a mechanical linkage or cable you need to check the freeplay to be sure.

The engine seems to engage when I let the clutch out near the top also, and there isn't as much of a throw-your-head-back take off either.

PUT CAR IN HIGHEST GEAR , PUSH E BRAKE IN AND LET OUT CLUTCH. IF THE CAR KEEPS RUNNING IT IS THE CLUTCH IF NOT MAYBE SOMTHING ELSE.
