Bypassing the heater core
Well, I just discovered a negative about owning an older car (1989 Model REX). Older parts will break unexpextantly. Yesterday, my heater core leaked it's entire contents into my passenger side footwell. Nearly submerging that nice new chipped ECU. As a temporary fix, I plan to bypass the heater core. Has anyone done this to there car? Were there any negative effects? By the way, my heater core is a stock DX model core and I'm running a DOHC ZC.

Re: Bypassing the heater core
Shouldn't be a problem. I've known quite a few people that do that instead of fixing the core. Obviously, only thing would be you wouldn't have a heater for the car. I've looked at my heater core and it looks like a real PITA to take out. Looks like they ran a metal fuel line right in the middle of the core. I think if mine were to break I'd bypass and just get me one of them 12vdc ceramic heaters.
