Anyone with a bad MAP sensor or fuel pressure regulator?symptoms?

My 94 cuttlas sl, is not running like before, when its cold and i start it, i wont idle and the rpms go really low, and then back to normal, but it wonts stay in one place until the engine is warm, i changed the fuel filter and it didnt fix the problem, also when this happens and i try to take off, i hit the gas and it wont respond, it's like if the car was not getting enough fuel, and it wants to turn off, but it doesnt. The exhaust gases have a gasoline smell to it? anyone with this problem and solved it, please help me out

I have a 95 cutlass SL with these exact symptoms. I'm bring it in this morning and will let you know what the mechanic concludes. Its either MAP senser, fuel pressure or pump. (I think) Does yours not want to start once heated for a period of time? Mine will not start unless I let it cool down and loses the prime first thing in the morning. Will be back...

The problem was fuel pump. Pressure at idol was 22lbs. Now its up over 30. What a difference. Its like a new car again. 29 mpg.

mine is fixed also, srry i didnt let u all know i got it fixed. Turns out it was this sensor which was not connected, its a small, one wire sensor, and its connected to the engines block. It's just on top of the oil filter, well not on the oil filter, but you know on top of where the oil filter goes and all of that. it's oval in shape and white. Do you know what its name is? That sensor seems to just mess everything up. When it's not connected

I know exactly the senser your talking about. I've disconneted it many times without knowing I did. I've learned now to look for that when it runs rough.
Good luck!
