Dual Tickits in IL

i got 2 tickits for going 20 over and driving uninsured, well i just bought the car so i didn't have the paper in the car so the cop said i can just show that i was insured on the date of the ticket, which i was/am but for 20 do i have to pay a fee? and for this insurnce thing i have to go to court no matter what so, she suggested supervision but i had a ticket already exponged (sp) and i already went to the 4 hour driving school, so do i have a chance at supervision or what? and would the police department mail anyting to my parents i am 17 years old and i was just planning on showign up for court, thanx for the imput aaron

Yes they will mail a bunch of those "got a ticket?" flyers and stuff to your house. I dont know about the fee or penaltym i HIGHLY suggest you start driving MUCH better or you will lose your license.

Re: Dual Tickits in IL

I known people that have gotten ticket for failing to provide proof of insurance and most of them took the proof of insurance stating that they where covered at the time of the ticket and got it dropped. If you just got the car as long as you had already talked to the insurance company to get it covered you probalby can take a statement from them stating it was covered and probably get out of the failure to provide proof of insurance ticket. As far as the speeding ticket try and fight it, good luck

I think thats just Florida. I got pulled over 3 times. First time was 50 in a 35, second time was 60 in and 45 and the last time was 48 in a 30 with no proof on insurance, all with no tickets. The officer that pulled me over the last time said that if I could produce a copy of my proof of insurance that was current at the time I was pulled over, then I would be clear. You should get a copy of your proof of insurance and bring it down to the station and have someone give it to him. If you dont, you will have to go to court, and you will have to pay a fine. Yeah, I agree with alphalanos, driving a little slower will definately pay off.

Re: Re: Re: Dual Tickits in IL

well the cop said i have to go to court no matter what, just for the insurence thing, but i know that will be dropped, but the 20 over i dont know if i get fined for that, i already got a speeding ticket long time ago, took drivers school thing, then it was exponged off record, what are they going to do this time if i request supervision? that is what the cop suggested, but she didn't know i had a ticket previously exsponged. im kind of nervous my court date is 9-13 and i dont know if i want my dad to find out

Re: Dual Tickits in IL

I knew having an associates in criminal justice would payoff eventually, lol. Here we go, most of your questions are state specific. Meaning each state sets its own guidelines as to which laws affect minors. More than likely you will need a guardian, as you are legally still a minor and a court cannot try you without representaion of a legal guardian. Next, unless the judge drops the charge completely you will have to pay a fine for the 20+. So prepare yourself, your parents will have to know and slow down! Speed limits are to keep people safe. Wanna speed, go to a track or off-road course. Anyways, good luck whatever happens.
