Boost is back...

I had been having some problems with my car recently. It had been idling rough, really bad knock in the low revs, not much power and bad economy. I took it to the Perth MR2 specialist so he could have a look at it. www.wtfauto.com I was then informed that one of my cam belts had slipped a cog and this had caused the timing to become way too advanced. It was good that he had diagnosed the problem but he didnt have time to fix it till the next month...

This meant that i had had to drivve around babying my car, not hitting boost for a month... That was soooo not kool.

On thurs nite i took my car in to finally get fixed up and i got it back on Fri nite... it is a 50 minute drive to get to his place but GOD DAM WAS IT WORTH IT!!!

He had fixed the problem comletely AND he had fixed up my boost controller so i am now boosting 1 bar. FYI the Biltz duel solenoid boost controllers are really hard to understand how to change the boost...

All in all, my car now kicks ass I had my 1st AWD drift experience on saturday due to the newfound power and i must say it was damm fun. AWD drifting isnt nearly as scarey as RWD drifting IMO. Much more controllable. I am now a very happy person.

I think most of them migrate to alltrac.net. Lots of people with alltracs there.

I actually check this site almost everyday

I just rarely every post on this particular forum because i dont know the answers to most of the questions posted on here. If i dont know the answers, i dont post. Its my way of helping stop incoherent babble posts that quite often spring up.

I read and post in the 300zx forums (for obvious reasons) and i read up the 3000gt forums because i one day hope to get one... ( they are called GTOs in Australia and cost in excess of $35,000 for a 2nd gen twin turbo)

I dont go to alltrac.net actually. i find that http://www.gt4oc.net/ is a much better site. its a pommy one but they know their shit about GT4's...

Re: Boost is back...

my firend had a 3000gt and thought he had a gto motor in it (dumbass, gto motors are the EXACT SAME as in the usa minus an egr), turned out he had a mitsubishi montero swap, he was a dumbass and bought it off ebay...lol

But because i live in Australia and drive on the left hand side of the road i can import myself an GTO MR spec. Its kind on like the GTR V-spec. but a GTO. it will pull a 12.8 sec 1/4 stock.... So tasty.

I love AWD so much. Too much hp through RWD is too dangerous in my hands. Thats why i recently sold my 300zx. I would have killed myself if I had kept it. I loved the outright power of the 300zx but i love the AWD of the GT4.... so If i buy a GTO, I get the best of both worlds
