HO-LY shit...

Tonight I went cruising around the 55mph strip I went to last night but the streets were for the most part barren other than a truck riding my ass at 65.

Eventually the truck lights that were so close to my behind
seen in the rearview mirror began to burn my eyes
so I figured it was time for a u-turn and time for me to head home.
I pull into the left hand lane and spot headlights coming close in the
distance. The turn light was red but I figured hey, I'll just pull
in the left lane, speed up and then change lanes so I don't
have to bother this guy and cut him off from the start
(yah right, i coulda just waited for him to pass).
Anyway, I pull the U in 1st, tires screech a bit, 75% throttle.

Kick it into 2nd, speed up to around 50 but the car is still too close
to comfortably change lanes so I take it up to 70 in order to
make the lane change in order to get in the appropriate lane
for the route home. It was as if this car behind me had pedal hamered
as well because even at 70 he was still relatively close in the lane.
When I switched lanes he dabbled between lanes behind me and
then passed me by.

Hah, just some impala with exterior light modifications and vinyl...

Yah, a light bar full of blue and red lights and vinyl across the doors
that clearly marked a POLICE CAR. As he passed he flashed
a bright light at me which clearly stated "slow down you asshole"
and believe me, when I realized that was the only punishment I got for
going 70 in a 50 in front of a cop I about shit myself.

All I could say when I got home and out of the car was

HO-LY shit...

cliff notes - killed an Impala cop car.... yah right.

That Sort Of Happened To Me. I Was On The 118 In Chatsworth And I Notice This Ass Behind Me Getting Close So I Speed Up He Turns His Highs On And Gets So Close To My Ass Thta I Couldn't See His Lights ( I Was Going The Spped Limit @ First Then Sped Up To About 75) All Of A Suddden The Lights Go Crazy And I Think I'm Screwed I Pull Over He Comes To My Window And Just Tells Me To Drive A Little Slower (i Kept My Mouth Shut) And He Let Me Off.

It was probably the end of his shift, or he had something more important to do than pull you over. Fortunately most cops here are still in crown vics, which i can easily spot from the front or behind.

City cops are easy to spot All in CV's, Tahoes or bikes... it's the HP you gotta worry about though, about half the force is cruising in unmarked cars... and WSHP aren't just unmarked cars, only thing they have that differentiates them from the rest of the cars is a police officer driving them... oh and dark tinted windows.

Totally random cars though... really gotta watch out for them if you're speeding

Re: HO-LY shit...

yah he coulda pulled me over for a number of things.
Speeding, turning on a left red, I'm sure some sort of wreckless driving (screeching tires through the U)
and of course my large noisy muffler just begs cops to pay more attention to me. Then of course once I have their attention they can fine me $80.00 for having too loud of an exhaust.

Add those up and it would have translated into quite a hefty fine. I most definitely lucked out.

ive had this happen to me more than once. one of the main streets in my town has like three of the biggest local bars so the cops are always hiding and i cant count the times ive had a cop flash his spot light at me just to make me slow way down. but i think i have all of you beat as far as the cops go. down in pizmo beach there is a squad of cop cars that are all ferarris.(spelling) and the only time they come out to "play" is when there is a high speed chase or something of that sort. its like ten cars i think and they are all black and white. its freakin amazing. and i would not like to be the guy who gets chased down by one of those....

Ya, we have an unmarked camero around here. I think it has some exhaust work done because I heard/saw it pretty soon after they got it and tried to catch up to it to get a look and maybe get him to run me (I know I'd get killed, but seein nice cars peel out is fun). Anyway, I got about 30 feet from him and saw the light bar in the window, so I backed off. 30 seconds later he nailed someone for not using their turn signal. After he turned off, an SRT4 was tryin to get me to race him, goin 50 in a 20, I wish the cop hadnt turned off....
