customized underhood lights.

My Eclipse did not come with a light under the hood. so i was thinking about adding (2) 3 inch WHITE neon light tubes. one of the left side and one on the right side of the hood. Now with the fans blowing, the lights will be able to substane the heat, am i correct?? The last thang i need is a electrical fire. And as anyone did anythang like this before?

My talon didn't come with a light under the hood. Did you hear that they were sappose to? I have never heard of someone doing this before to an everyday driver.

If anyone's bored...take a look at the nicest 1g I have ever seen. I don't care about the lambo door kits. The car just looks awesome.

I don't think any of the eclipse/talon came with a light under the hood, which is stupid because every other car I have seen or owned has had one. It really does come in handy.

That 1g in the link that was posted looks fuckin awesome. It looks nothing like a 1g at all. Would look better without the vertical doors though.

Re: customized underhood lights.

I added some red LEDs in the engine compartment and on the underside of the hood and so far I haven't noticed anything. I wrapped the wires in a bunch of tape to insulate them a little.

Damn that thing is hot!!!! I like that. Just becareful when you install them, and make sure that you avoid placing them in areas with something can get caught up and wrapped around something. As long as your carful i don't think that you would have to worry about an engine fire

Re: customized underhood lights.

you shouldnt have to worry about a fire as long as the wires for the lights have fuses and everything. the only problem i see is they might not last as long because of the heat. but neons are cheap so go for it. i was thinking of doing that to mine too actually
