1990 Caravan Tranny Replacement

Does anyone out there have ANY tips on getting this tranny back in. I am/was trying to use a standard floorjack. What fun. two hours trying, no luck. I am going to get a tranny jack and try that. Are there any more tips and hints that I may need to know about?

Any tips are appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

Chances are that the transmission jack will give you a lot more control than the floor jack. It should be pretty easy to get it back into position although clearance is minimal. Once you have the bell housing centered just below the flywheel with about a half inch clearance it should jack into place easily.

Another option

lift from top by a long thread rod, someone using cherry picker too.

another way you can do it with a floor jack is get some bricks on top of the jack pad and use that to move it around. You also can tilt the engine down slightly so that you can access the the bellhousing bolts a little better. You'll need a second person to steady to transmission so that it won't fall off.
