Lightbulb How do you get that Texture on a racing seat?

Have begun making a Subaru Impreza WRC and have come to the point of painting the seats. Instead of just painting them black, I want that flat black cloth textured look. The dash board also is covered in the same material.
Is something added to the paint? The best example I could give is one of my 1:18 Autoart models. The seats and dash are painted in a mat textured black and it really improves the car 1000%

Thanx in advance

Scale Motorsports makes a textured paint called Faux Fabrix that does this.

or if you cant get a hold of that stuff try getting some flat white in a can an from far away try spraying mist of it an it should leave a sort of textured feel then just paint over them with flatblack, good luck on the wrx

or couldn't you just get flat black and spray it in mist coats? i know for sure that mist coats will get you texture cuz one of my Supras was covered with a final mist coat and it came out textured. good luck!

Or, you can airbrush acrylic thinned with 70% or 99% isopropyl aclohol (no water). The alcohol evaporates quickly, leaving a nice subtle texture. I paint cylander heads this way.
