Wheel Bearings going bad

I get a chug chug sound when driving all the time ...not just when braking but all the time...I have been told that its the wheel bearing/s going bad and I have already had new brakes and rotors put on so I know thats not the problem...if it is the wheel bearing how hard is it to fix?

Re: Wheel Bearings going bad

axle nut and three torx bolts. and it's off with at most a slight tap with a dead blow or brass hammer. you WILL have to buy the socket for the axle nut (it's big and long) and the Torx bit for the bolts. If you have trouble ligning up the holes for the bolts, theres a reason, you have to turn the hub for each bolt since only ONE hole works. While you're in there look at the Axle itself, look the boot over for cracks, leaks, and tears, and give the wheel a turn forward and back with the car in park to check for excessive play in the axle.

My recommendaton, buy Timkin bearings, dont be cheap, I know "it's just a bearing" but after replacing both sides three times in 6 months and still having the Timkins in after 4 years now, I say the Timkins are the best at this time.
