97 Voyager - Transmission Type Question
Just bought a 97 Voyager with the 3.8L engine. Salesman told me it was 180HP, went online and found that in 96 and 97, the 3.8 produced just 166HP (a whopping 8HP more than the 3.3). In 98 and beyond, the 3.8 engines were tweaked to produce 180HP.
Anyway, what I can't seem to figure out is if the 97 3.8L engine uses the same transmission as the 3.3L? They're both 4 speeds but I wondered if one might have been mitsubishi and the other chrysler for example. Thanks. |

Quote:
Mitsu 3.0 liter V6 used the great 3 speed tranny they used to use . They should have figured out how to add a 4th gear to that instead of using that 4 speed they call a transmission. |
