Hey there,
I am towing something soon with my 03 AWD V6 Vue. However, when I went to the Uhaul place to get the hitch and cooler they said it already had a tranny cooler (or seemed like it) already on it. On the front (from back to front) is the engin radiator, the A/C radiator, and a 3rd radiator on it. When I asked what it was they said it was a power steering cooler. This did not make sense since I it has electric assisted steering, but maybe I am missing something. Does anyone know which is correct? Thanks in advance for any information given. Slade |

Re: VUE 3.0 transmission cooler....does it come with one?
every auto trans has a cooler of some sort. most are internal inside one of the endtanks of the radiator, (a fluid to water cooler) some others have an external independent cooler(fluid to air). i have had no experence with electric power steering to know if it needs a cooler or not. only thing i can say is to track the lines.
if you have no luck post on saturnfans.com

Hey there,
Yea, I am registered with that forum as well already. The 3rd cooler I spoke of at the very front of the car; the Uhaul guy and I tracked the lines and they were in line with the radiator into the transmission. I guess when I posted this I really should have asked if it had an auxillary transmission cooler. You are correct, every AT has the trans lines run into the radiator at least. I am really curious to know FOR SURE if it is an additional cooler to keep the fluid that cherry color for the longest possible time. I am towing a 5x8 trailer for ~900 miles straight down from South Dakota to Texas. The empty weight of the trailer is 900lbs. I am just trying to make sure I keep my VUE in tip top shape. Thanks again for the information. ![]() Slade |
