24 hrs?
OK. Jack the rear of the car and put on jack stands. Put the jack under the differential and take the bottom shock bolts out. Slowly lower the jack till the tires hit the ground (watch your brake lines). Get a gas can or big bucket and disconnect the fuel lines by the tank (one of them will empty the tank). Disconnect the electrical connector for the sender & pump. Disconnect the exhaust and get it out of the way. Remove the tank's heat shield. Remove the gas cap and filler neck shroud. Support the tank (once it is empty) and take the tank strap bolts out. you'll need another person to help at this point. Get a thin piece of metal and look where the filler shroud was. There is a "lip" on the filler neck and one down in the hole where it has to come out. Have your helper hold the metal so the 2 lips can'r hook on each other as you lower and remove the tank. Lower the tank and remove from under the car. Rotate the sender lock ring CCW until it unlocks. Pull the sender & pump assembly up and out. Remove the pump & sock from the sender. install new pump & sock. Check the lines where the pump hooks up and if possible replace the pulsator (plastic disk thing above the pump) with a piece of fuel hose (rated for fuel injection use). Reinstall sender assembly with a new gasket for the cover plate and lock it down with the lock ring...then assemble in reverse order.
