jdm headers

i swapped teh jdm h22a and headers came with, my new headers dont mount up with my catlytic convertor, i have a Random Technology high flow cat that i bought for the h23, my question is do i need a new headers or new cat, when on r/t's site i saw a part number for the 2.2 and teh 2.3 but wud teh s have the same mounting pattern as the jdm vtec or even teh usdm vtec for that matter. jus tired of running open headers too loud. thanks

Re: jdm headers

Well for one, I can assure you "headers" didnt come with the engine. You more than likely recieved a HEADER. Alright now that thats cleared up, you'll pry need a cat for a h22, although I thought that h23 cats would work. Maybe that brand is different.

sorry i wasnt specific adding an S and all, and dont talk down to me like im a noob,
random tech made a direct fit which mounted up to my old DC's(POS btw), the jdm downpipe actually is bigger piping than my previous downpipe, havent bothered measuring yet so not sure exactly how big, which is why it doesnt mount up right, i really shud jus look up specs but i was hoping someone else had run into the same problem when doing their swap, got motor from hmotors fyi

When u replace the h23 with the h22, theres like an 8-10 inch gap between the cat and the rest of the exhaust...I drove to Meineke and they charged me like $35 and the were done within an hour. all the problems u might have are in the H22 swap write up

for evryone, the jdm h22a downpipe comes with a 4.5inch flange while the h23a has a 4in flange, this would make it very hard for the cat to mount up correctly, also the jdm is 2.25 inch piping while the usdm is 2 so everyone im glad i didnt listen nd get the cat because i wudve had the exact same problem only wudve been 250$ poorer, the usdm h22a flange is the same as the h23a flange. only difference is the where the exhaust mounts up to cat, the h22a cat is 13/16 of na inch longer than the h23a cat, buddy is fabricating something for me
