HOW do you get the Ball joints out from the upper A-Arm?
I need to know how to remove the ball joint completly from the A-arm? I just got a new Ball Joint Camber kit from SPC and it says to press out the balljoint. All i have is a big machine press but i dont know were to press on the balljoint to get it to pop out. And do i need to rent a balljoint press from autozone or something?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your best bet, IMO is to bring it to a garage, they'll have all the right adapters and most won't charge more that $20 USD. GL

i believe there is a c clip that has to be removed then it shouldn't be a big deal to press it out if you got a press. i did it with the lower ball joints and they came out ok.( i used a hammer though)

Re: HOW do you get the Ball joints out from the upper A-Arm?
umm... i thought on the civics/crx's the upper ball joint is part of the upper control arm and sold as a unit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW Least this is the way i've seen them, except for the 1/2 degree ones that cost alot.

Re: HOW do you get the Ball joints out from the upper A-Arm?
Well in my hanes book it says the the upper A-arm balljoint is NOT removable. So why the hell did they say it will work for 89-91 civic/crx???? Is there a way to cut it out or something? Can i take a front A-Arm from a 92-95 civic and put it on my 4th gen or are they diffrent. Because the 92's have a removable ball joint.

Re: HOW do you get the Ball joints out from the upper A-Arm?
Ok... I looked at a new set of upper control arms w/ ball joints I bought recently. On the underside of the controll arm there is a "C" clip. Looks like I'd have to take the ball joint boot off then the C clip and it might come out.
But like I said this is a new set, not OEM. So I can't say if the OEM is set up the same way.
