Just bought '00 GT...and something's wrong

Hey, I'm new here but have been reading this forum for sometime and found it to be very helpful. anyways, I just bought a 00 GT. it's black..and is beautiful i love it..but i've only had it a week and the other day while driving the battery light and oil pressure light pop on and the car just dies.. the power steering goes and the car just comes to a stop. the first time i just turned the car off then on again and it started right up..then one night i was on my way to the gym and it did the same thing. it started back up i got it to the gym and then when i went to leave the car wouldnt start back up..so a friend of mine came and we tried jumping it..didnt work at first but then we let it charge and the car started up..so i took it to the mechanic he gave it a new battery and new alternator cause he said sounded like that was the problem. and it did. but now i got the car back and it did it again.. so i told the mechanic he told me to drive it for the weekend and if it does it again to let him know..he said may also be fuel pump..sorry about the long post. just wondering if anyone has heard of or had a similar problem..thanks guys

I would almost guarantee that both the battery and alternator are not bad. Maybe one or the other but not both. And since you still have a problem it seems like neither was bad. Also, you dont need to drive it for a week to know there is still something wrong. First I would scrub the battery cable connectors with a wire brush till they shine. Screw them back on real tight. Try that first. Post back here with the results.

i can try scrubing the battery connection..maybe theres a loose wire somewhere. Yea it's def not the bat or alternator considering they are new.. and i've only had the car a week..my mechanic just said to drive it over the weekend to see if it does it again..thanks for the idea will try it as soon as i can

yeah i was also thinking maybe the CPS cause i read alot of other posts that it seems that would make it do what my car is doing..no dont think the low voltage slight popped up..pretty sure only the battery light and oil presure light came on..and yea the battery and alternator were bad bad..but werent great the abttery was in pretty bad shape and the alternator was gonna go eventually but wasnt horrible..but now both are new.
