Is there a SMALL, CHEAP Tachometer for a 3 cyl Geo?

I would like to have a Tachometer on my '93 Geo Metro 5 speed.

Most all are HUGE and most won't work with a 3 cylinder engine.

ALL I have seen go to 8,000 RPM !!! What the F*** engine goes
to 8,000 rpm !?
BTW - What is the Geo Metro 3 cyl NORMAL WORKING RPM range?

I'd like to see a small (2" dia) tach that goes to 4,000 rpm max that
cost around $25.

Even an LED sequential light type tach in a linear array would be
nice - as below:

1....2....3....4....5....6
..............................

Does anybody know of any small tachometers for sale anywhere
that don't cost your left testicle and work on a 3 cylinder engine?

Well, you could get a tach for a 6 cylinder and just divide the reading by 2, or you could try to find a dash from a Geo that came with a tach. Don't know of too many cars that will rev to 8000, maybe something like an Integra, but my brother's 93 Civic will hit 7000 before the rev limiter will kick in. BTW, redline on the TBI 3 cylinder engine is 6500, 6000 on the older carb'd engine.

Metro's cruise on the freeway at about 4000RPM. There's no such thing as a "cheap" tach. They're all expensive. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6&category=303
that would be the cheapest one that would work with a 3 cylinder. Check out Froogle.com . And as for the 8000RPM thing, my 1.3L will have a powerband up till about 9200RPM's, and handle over 10k.

I don't know about cheep but they do make tachs that have a 3 cyl. setting on them by flipping a switch they go 8,6,4,3. Check at an auto parts store. Go on line with J.C. whitney parts catalog. They might have it. It's a good accessories source.
