Brakes front and rear
Anyone know what the front to rear ratio is for a four wheel disc system?

Front to rear ratio??? What the hell are you talking about? How much stopping they do???

....Maybe Im wrong but dosent the front has more stopping power than the back? that little box that the master cylinder hooks to. ...cant remember what its called. OR maybe i know so little about it that I should just stop talking about it. maybe

Physically speaking; the front brakes do more stopping than the rear, that it why some cars have front disc but rear drum brakes. I think it's about 60% front 40% rear. But that all depends on the weight of the car and the suspension setup. A car with bad shocks in it can throw that all off and cause the car to have really horrbile braking ability.

i think hes talking about the proportioning valve. as to the answer, i dont know.

thats it the proportioning valve. Lost the name for a while. But i guess no one knows what the ratio is.

yeah, I think I've heard of that before too, usually comes up when somebody is talking about converting to rear disc brakes from rear drum. You could do a search on the forum about that and you might find something on it.
