Biggest Tires/Best Tires
Hi everybody, I own a 2005 Cavalier with the Goodyear Conquest crap tires on it. P195/70R/14 if I am not mistaken. I am curious, what is the biggest tire I can put on the car in terms of width. If anybody has something bigger than 195 on their car and has no rubbing, let me know.
Any recommendations in terms of tires. I don't want to spend much more than $50 per tire and want AA traction and high tread wear. I was looking at Yokohama Avid H4S. Any other recommendations? One other thing: Is it true that the smaller the sidewall, the worse the ride? The tires on the car suck in terms of noise, yet they have a 70 sidewall. Help me out folks. Thank you everyone, William |

Re: Biggest Tires/Best Tires
I have 225/40/18 on my car and I barely have enough room to where they don't rub. I am happy with my rims, and the handlin is excellent. My sidewall is maybe about 2 inches. They are $99 a peice....which are the cheaper ones....7.5 inches wide.

Re: Biggest Tires/Best Tires
Thanks a lot. Wow I didn't think this car could handle so much rubber. Sounds good. Thanks again.

Re: Biggest Tires/Best Tires
If I where you I just get 17's. The 18's look great however you going to be getting really pricey when it comes to the price of the tires.
