Ride Height question.

Deos anybody know the reason why the second gen neons back end sits so much heigher than the front? Also when purchasing lowering springs, should the rear springs be a little shorter? If so how much is the difference.

I have a 2001 Plymouth Neon and I'll assume that all the parts between the dodge and plymouth neons are interchangeable. So it would make scence that I could get dodge neon springs and it would work right?

Any input would help, just please no Plymouth bashing. I seen it happen on this forum.
Thanx.

lol, wow, its a front wheel drive car, the front is lowered more, so u have more traction. if the back was lowered more u would have horrible traction and turning would be a bitch, u would just skip along the road. also it would just look ugly. so overall the front should be farther down then the back. and yes plymouth and dodge are the same. when looking for parts use dodge instead of plymouth, everyone lists parts under a dodge neon.

I think you missed the point of the question. At factory settings the rear end sits considerably higher than the front. Ill try to clear up what I am asking, to lower the car and make both ends even w/ eachother would the rear spring be a little shorter. Also why is the rear so much higher than the front. It just looks so goofy. The neons competitors like the protege, civic etc. don't have that goffy ride height.

sorry for the confusion.

Yes it would need to be shorter.

Like Stealth_SUX said, I would think for better traction. I don't know why other car manufacturer's don't do it. Maybe the reason why neons tend to handle better than others in its class.
