ls vtec vs stock ls

hey guys ,
ok, well i first off i have a 90 teg with a beat up b18a and of course the damn thing is auto.I finally found an ls tranny with all the needed components and I was thinking while the tranny is out, might as well do some work to the engine too.So I want to get the block dipped, decked, bore it 30 over,etc.....My first question is, has anyone bored a b18a 30 over????for the pistons,i'm having trouble finding pistons that will match but i can get 30 over perforance rings...is this a good idea???next, what head would be the best for my application??I know people ask "is the ls/vtec reliable" and i know the answer is if it's built right......so would this be a good setup??any suggestions would help....Thanks

Re: ls vtec vs stock ls

why bother dumpin all that money into an LS block...even w/ a vtec head on it, the block itself isn't made to be rev'ed out high, with the money you'll spend on boring out the block, hot tanking, decking, and finding the correct pistons to drop in, then gettin an ecu to make up for the difference in air/fuel mix, you could just drop in a c1 and be on your way
