variable steering in 1995 olds cutlass?
I recently called the auto store to check a price on a power steering pump and the man asked me if I had variable steering? He didn't know what it meant and neither did I. I looked it up in my manual (HA HA) No luck of cours! Anyone?

I don't think Ciera's ever came with variable steering. It was supposed to vary steering effort with vehicle speed. Possibly the ES versions did, but I doubt it. Think the pump had an electrical connection on it if it did. I have to laugh at these counter guys. It's gotten to the point with me I always tell them it's got AC, Cornering lamps, SCR, and a white pinstripe when I call to check on something. Most of the time they are just following the prompts on the parts screen, but it is laughable.
