radio turn off

i got a 92 elderado...i dk how it is with other cadis buts when i turn my car off and take the key out my radio and all the acceseries stay on ...to turn them off u have to open the passenger door...if i recall right it would turn off if u opened the drivers door. is there any way i can fix this im sure its a wire problem thanks

That's the way my '93 works. It will shut off in 10 minutes or so by itself even if the door is not opened.

This is normal. It is similar to the headlight delay system.

By reading your post, are you saying that when you open the drivers door, the retained power still stays on? The only way to turn it off is to open the passengers door? It should turn off by opening either of the doors. I would check the door jam switch on the drivers door.
