Dead Battery
My battery finally gave it up this morning. I have a new battery on order ($185.00). I jump started it this morning in order to get it running in the hope that I could at least get to and from work one last time (I was picking up the new battery after work). However, the car is acting really weird. It hesitates badly now, and the 'Check Engine' light has come on. Could this be due to the battery being no good? Or do I have yet another problem? (I had hoped to replace my rear shocks this weekend but that looks unlikely now with the new problem(s)).
Thanks in advance. MT |

Re: Dead Battery
hopefully you didn't hook up the jumpers backwards or you will likely be replacing 2 alternators.
Use the driver's information center's "engine" button to check you voltage output when the car is running. You should have batween 12 and 15 volts.

Dead Battery
No I did not hook up the batteries incorrectly. The voltage displayed is 14.7 volts (give or take a bit).
Thanks. |

Re: Dead Battery
Whew! Well, that's good.
In my area we have AutoZone parts stores; They will read the check engine codes for free. Get the code and let use know what it is. This link give a list of what the codes are: http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/index.php
