Nice Truck

I was cruising down the highway when this truck passed me pretty quickly. I saw a RAM 2500 on the back, but didn't think much of it. As I was catching up (not fast) to see if he wanted to play, the guy must have floored it because the pull stopped. I downshifted and floored it. Again, I started passing it. To my suprise I didn't pull on him much. We got up to 145 and he was only about 3-4 trucklengths back. I didn't expect a truck to keep up with me at highway speeds.

I slowed down and when he was passing me, the guy was smiling when he looked over. I saw a "2500 Magnum V10" on the front fender. Holly crap, I thought the SRT-10 was the only truck with a V10 (but then again I don't know much about trucks)

Anyway, I need start looking out for these type of trucks from now on. It didn't look quick at all. If I catch one at a light, I might get suprised with all that torque they have.

Re: Nice Truck

I was just about to make a thread of my own about trucks and them smoking my ass. Seriously, WTF!!?? All you need is one stupid little fucking tuning box, unleash about 1000 Horses, and your set. But, I have no beef with trucks at all, but that's all it takes for those suckers and sure enough they're kicking your ass. Well, my ass anyways. But that'll all change in a few months,

Re: Nice Truck

A Ram 2500 V10 getting up to 145mph?

Now that's hard to believe, as they are governed to maybe 115mph... And I don't think those toads have the gumption get to that speed.

Nor the aerodynamics... but whatever.

He definitely had work done, the regular truck V10 is very different from the Viper V10. The diesels have some crazy potential too, there was an '01 Ram CTD at the All Chrysler show, put down 650rwhp/975rwtq on the stock block, 50lbs of boost

No doubt the guy had work done to it... I didn't know that they had much of an aftermarket.

Imagine the power that brick needed to push it through the air to go that fast... yikes.

Re: Nice Truck

yes our fast truck own all...

Mr. Gale bankes (how ever you spell it) pushed a Diesel to 275mph i think...talk about some power...

Diesels are easy to get reliable perforance out of...add fule and air = power...no messing with timing and all that BS...and most diesels are ment to haul so they have rock soild bottom ends... so all you have to do is crank the boost and add diesel. once your injectors will no longer supply enough fule to get that big black belch when you are running high boost after you take off, its time for propane injection.... then your turbo cant do any more boost, get a bigger one...and the cycle continues...it will be a while before you put a rod though the block.

the 300c and the new charger are pretty brick-ish( yes that is a word
) doesn't the SRT-8 hit 145 or 155?

Probably, but the SRT-8 also has 420hp pushing it.

The Ram 2500 V10, only has 295hp stock, but has 450ft-lbs of torque. Fast outta the hole for a truck, but not much once it's already moving.

Sure the V10 shares the same architecture of the Viper V10... but thats all it shares. It's a far cry from the power house of Viper.

Not to say it can't be made fast... just... Why would you? To take a truck that already gets 10mpg in the city and make it worse?

Not to mention it's made to work, not drag race.
