back lit dashboard lights
Anybody have experience with this one?
Some of the "back lit" lights (radio presets & climate controls) are not lit anymore. Not all, just some. As the weeks go by I seem to be losing more. 1998 Venture AM/FM cassette with separate CD player Any help is appreciated! (Greg A where are you?!?!) Thanks! |

Re: back lit dashboard lights
They are just small light bulbs. Have you tried popping off the climate controls to take a look at the bulb? If a whole block of them go out at once, say ALL the climate control ones, then I'd look at a connector or wire that is unplugged or broken.

RE: Where am I?
I'm here - but have not messed with the back lights (yet).
cdru seems to have some pretty good advice. If it is one or two lights, try to get to the bulbs and replace them (after testing). I seem to recall another message here (or on another forum) that you can get replacement bulbs at radio shack, if needed. Take Care,

i have taken the climate control out to check which bulb was out but have to put it back on since i did not have a soldering tool to take it off.be carefull when youll pull the socket for the vent switch cause it has a spring in it with a tiny steel ball on the tip, i almost lost it when i tried to pull the harness of the unit. and also there are 3 small springs on the switch when you take off the knob for the vent switch.

Thanks all! I'll try the plug route first. They seem to go out in multiples, not individually.
