Changing cluster easy???

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of changing my cluster because my current one is cracked and sort of faded. I am trying to locate one at a salvage yard. Is it easy to swap and once I do, will the van start or does it need to be reprogrammed/synced with the current computer on the van?

Also is there anyway for me to adjust the mileage to read the accurate info? Does it only store mileage info in the cluster or also in the main computer?

Thanks

What year is it? On my 98 GV it wasn't too bad. The side vent, cover under the stearing wheel and surrounding plastic all came out (as I remember). Four screws held it in and there was one connecter in the back. I had to pull mine out for the infamous, "gauges go dead" problem to resolder it.

Never done it myself, but this may or may not help you. Got me checking the boneyards for the 'cool' cluster upgrade. This dude ROCKS!:
