Problems for Ahnold

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...warzenegger_dc

Is the guy really doing that bad, or is California just a pretty messed up state anyways? Sometimes I don't think the people know WHAT they want out there, I mean, the size/population does make the place kind of a small country of its own.

Is he putting forth bad ideas, or is he just having trouble getting the people to buy into anything? It sure sounds like he's had some interesting enough propositions.

Re: Problems for Ahnold

Maybe when people elect celebrities to political office they are expecting a little too much.

He does hang pretty heavily on his favorite catch-phrase, where he threatens to "Terminate" something

Well all the teachers in the state hate him at the moment. Apparently he's taking away money from public schools which nobody is a fan of. You can't turn on the radio or TV around here without hearing an anti-Arnold commercial from the teachers association. I'm sure that's a big reason why his approval rating has gone down so much this year.

Ya a great deal of it has to do with the teachers union, although quite frankly none of my teachers have noticed any difference with him in office. The only problem I know if is the allocation of money in the school system, not the actual amount which they are getting. Its just the California teachers union bein dumbasses as usual.

Talk to people who actually make the state run. There isn't much of a reason to work for the state to begin with aside from benefits & he wants to take most of those away... If he stays in office & has his way, the state will be run by people earning minimum wage, not allowed overtime, and w/ no benefits for their families... The guy's a clown...

Re: Problems for Ahnold

Okay, what do you call pay cuts, trying to get rid of PERS, and the fact that stateworkers rarely get to work overtime to make up for any loss of wages? Go back to sleep, you're still dreaming Gotti.

Let's see what else has he done... He's the result of an election that cost the state millions, he wanted another special election that would cost the state millions upon millions, he smokes cigars on the grounds w/in the Capitol building, which is illegal, he barely spends any time at his office, he's "too good" to live in Sacramento, requires several cars and SUVs to take him across the street to the hotel he stays at several time a day when he is in Sacramento, taking money from special interest when he said he wouldn't, the whole muscle magazine thing... Yes, he's a clown... maybe that's why his approval ratings are in the toilet... Hmmmmm? maybe?

Ha hahaha haha research the subjects before you speak. California teachers are currently the highest paid in the nation. I know for a fact that my own school district is the highest paid in the America and the teachers still bitch about their pay. As far as benefits go, theyve got plenty, they'd complain if they were given a million dollars.

Please better represent the facts about the special elections and about the other things you said, who the hell cares

Re: Problems for Ahnold

I couldn't be in a better position to know what's going on in the state other than up his ass, which is obviously where you'd like to be...
All teachers are under paid... though teachers aside, almost every state worker can get paid more in the private sector, would be able to work overtime and have decent benefits. It's those little extra benefits that make it somewhat worthwhile to work for the state. Take those away, especially if it's as much as Arnie the Clown would want to take, and there's no point working for the state whatsoever. There would be nobody to do the jobs and nobody to train the minimum wage burger flippers to come in and replace them! Fact! How do I know? Because it's already happening. As for the special election - what? Do you know something nobody else knows? Do elections cost nothing to put together? If so, if they're free, let's have one everyday!

I think teachers are over paid and under worked. They can stand to get a pay cut to bring them more inline with the real world and what the general population makes.
