Wire and Electrical problems Everywhere!

I have a 93 Grand Prix and its a pretty good car. The engine is in great condition and seems like it could run for ever. But the wirering in the car is a mess. The electric mirror switch doesn't work, the gauges constantly drop on and off and the lincense plate lights went out not too long ago from a wirering problem.
Tell me does any one else have the same variety of wirering problems and can some one PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO FIND A MIRROR SWITCH FOR THIS CAR!!! because i can not...

You can check out E-bay for a mirror switch or a mirror. I always see power mirrors up for auction for GPs

teh GM part number is 10063001, and it should be about $45.97 retail at a dealer. You may be able to get it cheaper on-line or at the salvage yard. Fits 88-94 models

If this were my car with many electrical problems the first thing I would do is disconnect the battery and scrub BOTH cable ends and battery terminals with a wire brush until they shine, screw them back in and make sure they are TIGHT. You would be suprised how many problems can be solved simply by making sure there is a good ground connection. It's True, It's True!

I agree with ericvrose. Shortly after I bought my GT my radio kept showing up resetted like it had lost power. It only did this when the car was parked, ended up being a loose battery connection. Needless to say I was relieved that it was such a simple fix.

Re: Wire and Electrical problems Everywhere!

yep, same here, my car i s a 95 and i went out one day to go start it and it wouldnt turn over, but all my accesories worked. So i cleaned off the battery cable terminals and reconnected them and it started right up. No problems since.
