Fuel Filter Help!

I have been trying to change my fuel filter on my 01 2.2 cavy for the past week. I had made several attemps to pop the little green clip off the filter. Well, today after about a week of trying, I finally figured it out. I did spill fuel all over me an everything else, but I got it off and the new one on. I tightened the other side, and then went to start it to check for leaks. I started it and it dripped a little. I then crawed back under, loosened, and this time hand tightend it. I went to restart and gas started shooting from that side so i obviously turned it off. I then crawed back under to check it out. I was quite fresturated, so i went to get out from under the car. I guess I misjudged when the edge of the car was. Coming up a hit my forehead of the side of the cavy where you place jackstands on the rigid part. It mad a very loud noise, but I thought nothing of it. It did hurt like hell though! Then I look at my hand and its covered in blood. I had gashed it pretty good. Well, anyway to make a long story short. After spending the whole night in the ER, and 10 stitches. My cavy is still on jackstands, with one side of the filter attached, and gas all over. I also work tomorrow! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't understand why it leaks! Its on there pretty tight!

Thanks
Greg

Thanks for all the help guys. Advance gave me a crappy fuel filter, then ordered me an Ac Delco. Its must have been cross threaded then returned or somethin. They ordered me a Ac Delco and sait it would be in by the end of the day. I returned and then they tell me up to a week. I said F**K that and went to Autozone. It took me like 5 min with a NEW fuel filter. I won't be doing business with Advance anymore. They refused to return the crappy fuel filter, then lied to me about when the new one i ordered would be in...
