Re: 20BTTT in FC3S S5 (pics that i was asked to post)

just wondering, why is the exhaust manifold divided that way? is it easier to mete out the exhaust to each turbine that way?

that looks nuts

I made it that way for 2 reasons really.
1.It was easier than making a "log" style one that goes across the hole side of the motor.
2.It cleans up the bay. and allows proper spacing of each turbo. And as this is a show car the look is mainly what matters.

I do realise that building a manifold in this manner will cause there to be stress on certain parts of the exhaust pipe, But hopefully that is fixed by the downpipe that im constructing for it. You can see it on the bench in one of the pics. Very intricate peice of work that is. Real piss off too :P

Re: 20BTTT in FC3S S5 (pics that i was asked to post)

i was asking because i thought they would recieve uneven pulses for the exhausts (since only one is feeding them), at least at lower rpms.

How woudlit differe froma stockexhaust? Each port has its individualrunner.
Do you meanhaving all three turbos feed by all three ports?
If so, then yes, even exhaust pressure, as you dont owant one turbo working harder than the rest.

wow....

hell one giant turbo to feed that 20b would be enough for me, but 3 ... damn.

that's kinda up there with the old chevy with 8 turbochargers, but I won't say much about that since nobody here likes pistons

but ... that's awesome... incredible.

any kind of porting done to the motor ?

Re: 20BTTT in FC3S S5 (pics that i was asked to post)

its a very agressive streetport. No bridges or anything. But it will make some crazy power even on stock ports. Im looking forward to seeing this one ready for next years show scene. Should be one heck of a car
