Weird Starting Problem -Help

I have an '01 1.8ltr turbo that won't start.

When I turn the key all the electric comes on but it won't turn over. There was a buzzing coming from the engine so I pulled the right most fuse of the three on top of the battery and the buzzing stopped, then the car started fine. I continued to do this about once a week. The dealer I took it to replaced the ignition switch, but it started doing it again two weeks later. Last night I pulled the fuse and it still wouldn't start, so I tried drift starting it which didn't work, but after that attempt it started right up.

Is it the starter? Was the ignition switch a redundant replacement?

Thanks so much for the help

Kris

Nope, starts up fine and behaves normally. It happened again this evening, so I pushed up and down on the front fender to shake up the engine compartment a bit and then it started.

Thanks for the reply

01 ignition cylinders dont go bad, so i think its problably related to either the starter or the battery. Check for loose connections on the battery terminals or the fuses on top of the battery.

Re: Weird Starting Problem -Help

Thanks. The part that got replaced was an ignition switch, I was told they go bad at about 80000 for some reason. The car now won't start at all unless drift started, so I'm pretty sure it is the starter.

Thanks for the reply
