used turbo pistons??? Should I buy???

I have found a set of used CP forged pistons 9:1 comp. ratio with used rings, wrist pins, and locks. I am trying to get my car turboed as cheap as possible while reworking the bottom end. Is there anything that could be majorly wrong with buying used pistons? What should I look for? What type of wear defects or imperfections should I look for? He claims only 5000 miles on them. I mean they are forged, shouldn't they be almost bullet proof and work just fine?

you're right forged pistons are strong as hell and take serious abuse without much problem. If you are seriously interested have a professional mecahnic look at them, and definately replace the rings. If the guy isn't willing to let a true mechanic see the pistons that should be a serious red flag right there. As with most used parts, theres often a reason why someone is selling there old parts so just be careful
