Wink Body Kit?

Hey guys! I need some help. I really want do some body work on my car. I found this website, paautoracing.com, that seems to have pretty cheap prices. Has anyone ordered from here before? I want to check it out before I spend all my money on it!

Any opinions on which kit I should get? There's the "366" and "737." I'm thinking 366.... http://www.paautoracing.com/body_kits/mi3000GT.htm

Please Help! Want to get this done before I go back to college in the fall. Thanks!!

Re: Body Kit?

Well I actually like the 366 better. I am not famaliar with the shop, but funny enough it is actually somewhat close to me. I may have to go down and check it out sometime.

You may also want to check out www.3sxperformance.com They have the 99 front end conversion which looks great.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

My GF got the '366' kit (Erebani/Aggressor). Problem was, had to remove the front impact bar to get it to fit on right. Since she had to get ride of her stock turn signal piece... she decided to get the 94-98 3000GT clear corners from 3SX and had them custom molded in to the kit. Then she ordered 91-93 3000GT side panels from MSrecycling.com. Here are some pictures. It's still not done though, gotta get a rear bumper on there and a 97-98(?) hoop spoiler. But this will give you an idea of what you have to do... or at least what we did to get things done.

Re: Re: Body Kit?

The "366" makes me want to vomit every time I see it. Body kits can be a major bitch. Fiberglass sucks and cracks easily. I had a kit on my car and after a few months began to hate it. A spin out one night, then running over a dead deer another finished off the front bumper. I went with what I got now never to revert to fiberglass again. Except for maybe a hood.

Re: Body Kit?

i think the 737 kit looks pretty sexy myself
but those arent cheap. i got my kit for 600, thats half the price, but then again, those are most likely better quality, not to say mine was bad, just took some modification to get it to fit properly.

Re: Body Kit?

i am going to have to say that i like the 737 better also ( i have it on my car) I would highly suggest bringing it to someone to put the kit on.... my kit was about an inch to big on each side. i also had problems with uncured fiberglass underneath the gelcoat. not only do you need to remove the front impact bar but you need to grind your headlight buckets down to fit the turn signal. its tought work but looks GREAT!!!

Re: Re: Body Kit?

You can modify the crash bar. If you completely remove it then you are a complete moron. Sorry to sound so harsh but its true. There is nothing to absorb the IMPACT but the core support in the case of an accident.

well, first of all, in my own opinion, i would prefer to spend the money on an aftermarket hood, especially either a cianci victory hood or cianci viper hood

second of all, looks like we have a new chick on the boards. Just have have to beware of the leghumpers around

Re: Body Kit?

actually the crash bar doesnt have to be modified.. all u have to do is modify the front bumper. notice in my sig pic how i have that polished aluminim piece in the center part of the bumper. thats where the crash bar is, i just covered it up. im not sure about the other front bumper, i think it may be a lot more noticable than on the style bumper

Re: Re: Body Kit?

Its cleaner and easier just to midify the crashbar. When I had my kit I used a 4" grinder with a Zek(sp?) disk to cut my marks. Bumper fit great after that.
