Starter

I was driving for about 10 hours one day, when I pulled into some small town for gas and food, and when I started it up, it wouldn't start. I had battery, because lights came on. But it wouldn't do anything at all when I turned ignition. I think I am almost certain its starter. When I drove again for another 3 hours, I was getting drousy so I pulled off to the side of the road, for a quick coffee, turned off jeep. Turned it back on within 5 minutes, it wouldnt do anything just like last time. I leave it for 15-20 minutes and it starts up. I just need to confirm its the starter, I dont got $100 to waste here. I need to save cash for my jeep mods

Re: Starter

Hey Mark....

Double and tripppppple check the battery cable connections at the battery (are they shiney contact surfaces and tight) and at the starter (tight) and at the ground point at the block(loosen and retighten the bolt)

It might be the solonoid that sits on top of the starter. The main contacts inside slowly wear away and eventually give problems. Or it might be a relay problem on the key side of the circuit. Try switching the relays around in the PDC next to the battery.
