Timing cover seal won't stay put

My 91 B2600i 4X4 keeps losing the timing cover seal (press fit in timing cover sealing front crank). It will stay put at low rpms but will pop out at anthing over 40 MPH. Is this a comon problem, what is causing it, high oil pressure, out of balance crank or what? Thanks for any clues on this pesky problem.

Sounds like some play in the cam... tough one to say on that. You might want to make sure you have the right seal as well. Also you may need a sleeve to place around the seal if it has become worn out , sometimes you can get away with a gasket maker or even lock tight to keep it in place , but if it shows signs of being knocked out then i would look to more of a mechanical problem.
